In 1968, on the famed outdoor grass courts of the West Side Tennis Club at Forest Hills, New York , Arthur Ashe won the US Open men's singles championship and became the first African-American man to win a major title. Our 2018 US Open Coat is a 50-year tribute to this moment in history.
Cut from vintage striped West African strip-weave cotton, this mediumweight coat has a custom '68 patch on the right sleeve, and "ASHE" in red felt on the back. Sport trim, long sleeves, and patch pockets. All wear and imperfections are unique to the original fabric. Dry Clean only and seldomly.
